That’s a technicality. In the strictest sense, fiberglass is thin strands of glass fibers, and if you want to be not so prickly you could stretch it and say that fiberglass is the woven cloth or matt product made from fibrous glass.
What most people mean and accept the term fiberglass to mean is a layup of fiberglass cloth, or matt, and epoxy or polyester resin. Both of which are plastics, no?
All Slow was trying to say is that he used non-reinforced plastic sheeting instead of reinforced because it is more flexible. I have cut my share of FRP panels and tend to agree with Slow. It is fiberglass, or if you want to be prickly, it is a layup of fiberglass.
Now that I have so boldly declared my position, I must admit that I am certainly not expert on this topic, so I am willing to be enlightened if there is something that I am missing in my understanding about this.
I just wanted to make a point that there is no purpose to calling someone out on semantics.
