Hi Mike,
Yes and no to the build question. In my album you can see before and after pics of the old Jim Dandy style teardrop. I bought it as a project that was pretty complete but needed a lot of TLC. I painted everything inside and out after I got it cleaned up and made a few structural repairs. After a while (a year or so) I decided I wanted a rustic look so changed the appearance, I covered the walls with old cedar fence boards and the roof and front hatch with used corrugated iron roofing. The wall covering and the roof covering are not structural and the old JIm Dandy is sound underneath. Lots of fun while towing, camping and at gatherings. For some reason most people claim to have never seen another one quite like it.
