Solar Eclipse

Postby xigarena » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:15 am

Can anyone explain to my feeble mind what a solar and lunar eclipse is? I just need the simple, step-by-step, idiot-proof definition of what happens during a lunar eclipse and what happens during a solar eclipse. In addition, how many times a year do we have solar and lunar eclipses? Thanks a million!

solar eclipse = sun eclipse = moon blocks sun
lunar eclipse = moon eclipse = earths shadow blocks out moon

lunar eclipses are more common.
