New guy here, thinking of building a Wanderer 10

Postby oldmopars » Tue Jul 10, 2012 2:14 pm

Well, I am new here and have never owned a tear or tiny camper. I have had other campers, 5th wheels, motorhomes etc. I recently sold a 5th due to moving in town and now I want to build something smaller for my wife and I. My kids are all late teens/20's and don't go with us.
I am interested in the Wanderer 10, I searched and it seems that no one has built one yet. Is this still true?
Any suggestions you have as I start to prepare for this would be great.
Thanks
Scott

Honestly I had never heard of the wanderer. For others who don't know about it, here is a link.

The Wanderer 10 would fit me the best of all the designs I have seen. I need an indoor port-a-potty and I would like the option of being able to do some cooking inside the trailer. Being able to stand in it makes it nice and having a dinette is good also. The fact that it is small enough to fit in my garage and keep it dry is a huge factor also. My car can tow up to 5000lbs and so it being a little bigger is no problem.
I would love to see any builds like this. Or as soon as I get the money for the trailer I may have to start the first build tread.

I hear you on the size. My build #2 is quite a bit bigger than my teardrop, and will have a porta potty for emergency use, but I won't quite be able to stand up in it. My kitchen will slide out the side, as I don't want to cook in my trailer. Where I live, and camp most is bear country, I don't need to alert the bears that there is a tasty human inside the funny looking box with wheels.

I can't wait to follow your progress!

The Wanderer designs were only published in January this year and as far as I know, no-one has built one yet.
