That is really too bad Angie. Everyone wants to meet the woman who has made slow so happy. We can't make as we have an event here in nv too.

I have not planned to do a whole lot of cooking on this trip so I might be contributing fruit at breakfast and dinners. That's assuming I can find some good fruit on the way. Is there decent produce to be found in Pinedale? I'm spoiled by eastern state parks with electrical hook-ups and am used to doing crock pot dinners. I have a propane stove but haven't used it much and wasn't planning to pack many pots and pans. Since I do all the cooking at home, I've looked forward to a whole month without having to cook! :applause:

Also I will be leaving here in less than 2 weeks. Departure is set for July 27. Wool socks, winter coat, and extra sleeping bag are already packed. So is a swimsuit in case the high temp is higher than expected; since there are no showers I can head for the lake. I have my big blue jug for containing wash water. Anything else I need to know before leaving?

 It sounds like everyone should plan on meals made from canned and dried foods and supplement with fresh meat and produce when you are able to find it. That's what seasoned campers tend to do anyway.

:frightened: Sounds like you all are going to a Galaxy far, far away ;) The Pinedale I know of has year-round residents who don't all subsist on spam ,dried beans, powered milk and

There is at least one grocery market. http://shopridleys.com/home.php

I've even heard rumors of a Subway in town. ;)

According to Pinedale online http://www.pinedaleonline.com/ campfires and charcoal fires are permitted at this time in BLM campgrounds and Sublette County, This is subject to change at any time as conditions warrant.

Let us plan on having an enjoyable time and not succumb to the mirky-dismals

Okay, Slow, I know this song is from 'before your time' but it is perfect for you:

http://www.songlyrics.com/perry-como/ac ... ve-lyrics/

Click on the red Perry Como thingie while you're reading because it's easier to understand when you hear him singing the words.
(Unlike some of the others, Mr. Como enunciates very clearly.)
If you have a cell phone with ring tones, there is a download at the bottom for that. You can load it onto your phone as a reminder. :R

So after reading all 19 pages.....sounds like I've got to make it on the for sure list! And I'm on it! I take a large T-shirt and I liked the green and yellow ones. I still can't upload pics to my profile or post...... first timer here lol. A few Q's about the camp site, will all of our tow vehicles be next to our teardrops or ttt's? In group camping I've seen them grooped together unhitched. Does anyone know if there is a list of people going to Yellowstone after the weekend at the new fork lake campgrounds? Another thought we could have a trailer show and have dog tags as a trophy, best in show, longest teardrop, widest teardrop, lightest teardrop, tallest teardrop, smallest ........things like that maybe idk just tossing some ideas up in the air. Any one know of a place to get blocks of ice close to the camp site?

Hey Shawn , there are several people going on to Yellowstone after the gathering. Joe from Texas and I are heading there on Sunday with a stop in the Tetons Sunday night. We have reserved in Bridge Bay CG for Monday-Wednesday. Maybe some others will chime in with their plans. I like your idea of the contest for dog tag awards. I have no idea where to get custom tags done. If you want to take charge of it that would be great. We can do it Saturday night after the potluck. If you have any questions send me a PM.

Mike, great job of scouting at New Forks. You have earned a merit badge for that. The place sounds great. Much better then I pictured. Sure it would be better to see the lake and the mountains from the Camp site but being nestled in the trees will be fine. You have to remember that you look at the mountains all the time. Our mountains are high rise buildings. I have to drive about 600 miles to see a mountain. So a few miles by car will be a pleasure!
I will try and call the Rangers and see where we are with the fire ban. It sure would be nice to be able to Dutch oven cook or grill. Can't wait to see some pictures of the area. We all appreciate your extra effort on this. Did you get any fish?

It's getting close folks....

For those on the attending list, could you please post when you plan on arriving. There was some confusion in the beginning that we have the group site for Thursday the 16th, leaving on Sunday the 19th.
