What can I expect going to a gathering like this. I saw on the IRG pics a buffet and wondered ok do i need to plan something in my dinner to share with others. will it be go do your own thing till dinner time. really new at this.

Forrest, Most gatherings I have been to go pretty much the same. Slow Cowboy had never been to one so we decided to bring the gathering to him. So the idea was to do a traditional gathering as I know it. Since most of us are coming a good distance the idea is to spend time as a group. The easiest way is meals. This leaves the day time for site seeing ,exploring or just visiting a camp. You are welcome to join into everything or as much as you want. I will guaranty when you will leave you will think you have always known us. It happens every time. Don't stress over the details. We will have a great time.

Paul was right on with the food. Since we are a distance from town I thought we would have Friday and Saturday dinners together as well as Saturday Breakfast. If you don't want to join us for any meals that is perfectly fine. It may not be for everyone. But as it stands now there is no burn ban so we can grill and Dutch Oven cook for those that like it. Make or buy anything you like . It does not need to be fancy or a lot. Just something to pass.

I started a separate thread for the meals to make it easier.....

Well slow look at it like this......... if your the first to be there, you will not have to set up in front of a croud but if you show up late and everyone sees you pull up and start setting up there will be no escape from people asking if you want help hahaha. i got dibs on the spot thats down wind from everyone so when the stoves get fired up ill smell it all! So for a fire pit to keep us warm........ i didnt see or hear about that yet and are we going to have one big fire pit or multiple fires?

Hey Slow, good to see ya back on the forum. I watched the national news and did not see anything about a cowboy getting shot :frightened: so you must have done Ok meeting the parents. :applause:

Bring the Turkey Fryer and propane for Saturday breakfast....cause you and I are cooking Omelets for those that want some. A few dozen farm fresh eggs would be nice. Don' forget your camera and Dutch Oven and something to make in it. Do you have a lid lifter for the DO? Oh and some patience for the city slickers!!

Hey, Slow, I've heard of coffee enemas but I think you're supposed to drink the coffee!

By the way, there were approximately 241 people at the IRG Redwoods gathering. Are you ready to handle something like that?!!! :o

Woodbutcher,,,Slow,,,,
I will have to move to the maybe list, as much as I don't want to.....Was planning on taking friday off and leaving early,,,but....apparently the payroll people at the company I work for made a mistake last February.....it was my five year aniversary so they gave me 3 weeks vacation,,,,now they're saying we don't start accruing the third week till then and have to wait till our sixth year for it......soooooo,,,,they took back 40 hours from me leaving me with one day for the next eight months.....as we have no sick leave I need to save it for doctor's appts or for being sick...thinking I had 120 hours vacation,,,I took days off to go camping and had to leave one day early due my screwed up back. If something changes I'll try to make it. Hell I make a mistake and I pay for it,,,,they make one,,,,I pay for it,,,,,go figure.....roll on retirement....If I do make it just for one nite,,,,I'll find a place in the trees to park...

If you see my harley on a trailer,,,,call the police cause it's being stolen...
