Foam trip didn’t happen ... got bogged down in tube amp repair for others ... Busy Saturday !!!

So instead I did yet another drawing for the 3”X 2’X10’ sheets ... just to see what I needed to slice up ... Figuring around 12 sheets .. or 4 blocks (3” cuts) in the neighborhood of 80 USD ... Can’t think of anything Thriftier

Rosey , I talked to the gentleman in Lafitte , he has a big stack and supposedly a warehouse full in Baton Rouge ... I just need to drive down there and pick some up ... as much as I can fit in the back of the truck ... Just gotta’ find time for that ...hopefully this weekend ...

I must confess I’m getting nowhere with this project ... It’s been raining (say flooding) here most every day ! The foam is still there and available ... Might be better off taking a Boat there and just floating the foam back ...

Dealing with large blocks of 24” wide foam , I had to come up with a slicing machine I can run these through ... Here’s about the simplest way of doing it ... a little time to set up , but then I can slice away without constant adjusting, and the sheets will come out about 3.5” thick which is just the right size for beadboard and “tons" of insulation too .... and it will fit standard lumber (no ripping) ... sorta like a big cheese slicer ... hahahaha Just push the block through , cuts the same width every time ...

I'd make two changes. I'd change the sill plate to 2x4 (I assume ripped to match the 3 inch foam). This will give a little more something for screws to bite into, either screwing up from the bottom or Kregging down from the top.

And I'd run the roof spars a little further into the side walls, especially if there is no other wood bracing along the profile.

If the trailer frame is 'C' shape then your bolting is fine, but if it is tube (as depicted) then you will not have access to the nuts as shown.

Is the little cap piece necessary or just decorative accent?

KC , since I’ll likely be using the bead board and thick too , I just wanted to provide a way to “box in” the bottom part of the wall for a little more “security” (gluing area ). The inner “wainscotting” , the bottom plate , and that little cap all secured to each other , and the Foam ... then skinned ... that should hold eh ?
Regarding those rafters ... perhaps a small slotted panel where the wall meets the ceiling to spread the stress of the rafters , and act somewhat as a decorative accent ? Or abandon the rafter idea and use foam arches ? ... The inner roof span will be over 6” so it seems it must be supported in some way ... Or schmaybe’ not ??? 6’ 0f 3.5” foam , skinned on both sides isn’t going to bend/deflect much, if at all ... So if we’re not planning on standing / dancing on the top , rafters may be just added weight and complexity ...
Still restricted to planning , been storming every day This keeps up , might have to build a foamie Boat too ...

With no arch in the roof I would either do a test with skins on. If it doesn't work out you can cut the spars into the roof and reskin. That way the spars are let into the roof and don't steal any headroom. Then you can decide if you want some more wood at the wall to roof joint.

BTW, our vacation is going well...very relaxing.

Skinned samples have shown tremendous strength , I don’t anticipate any problems at all with an unsupported panel roof ... the way I plan to use it (the qualifier) ... for others who may want to haul things on the roof , stand or dance on it , some supports would be advised ...
That and the idea that cabinet walls , foam arches , etc would also serve to reinforce the roof ... Given the amount of Rain , humidity and hot searing Sun here, Wood is my last choice ...

BUB's roof had quite a bit put on it and it held. Seems fiberglass and resin is support enough. Though I don't think I'll be walking on it.

I still can’t think of a good reason for walking on the roof ....??? Sure , it’s great on a 30’ RV , but on a Tiny trailer ...

Bub seems built pretty Solid !!! I think with some “decorative” touches it could look pretty COOL!!!
I’m faced with the same situation on the Low Wider which is essentially similar to the Bub ... it’s just a box innit? Maybe just a cool paint job , two tone with a lightning stripe ...????
We really never have gotten into decorating yet ...
