Hi, Mike here with his new toy a home built 1949 teardrop. Call me crazy because I drove 2200 miles round trip last weekend from San Diego to Vancouver, WA to get this thing. My girlfriend couldn't go so my cousin was my shotgun partner and co-pilot on the journey which was fun catch up time. Blues and Rock-n-roll kept us going on the 20 hour each way road trip. As I've read on other threads, I was asked, "What is it?" two young ladies thought it was little refrigerator trailer, was getting thumbs up from passerbys, at rest stops folks would walk up to it and it was a great conversation piece. Will paint this galvenized steel baby (solid as a tank) one color (battleship grey) even though I'm Army and cleaning it up. Adding new carpet, and some rewiring. Really looking forward to meeting fellow teardroppers at events and campsites. Bob and his wife Beverly were the sellers, American Tires in Portland took care of me with tires and bearing inspection.
