Not much time, so here is a first shot. 4ft high by 7ft long - that only just gets a 75" long mattress at floor height, so any shorter and you can't lie down.



Ira, I don't reckon it's the profile you like as much as the nice side window shape - and it's had to combine that window shape with using a door. But the shape could be just painted on, maybe with a bit of a wood frame.

This is what I came up with by tracing the second trailer and scaling it to 6 feet long. It does not allow very much room to lie down in. The person in the first picture is 5'9 for a size comparison. I can easily scale it larger. The second image has a 2" by 2" grid overlay it. If you decide on going this small I would layout the profile on cardboard to get an idea of just how big it really is.

Too small. The way I figure it is this:

I replace my floor ply with 4 by 6, which hangs over the tongue and back beam of the trailer 1' each.

So with a 6' length to secure my sides to the floor using L brackets, what total length am I looking at? 7'?

And can you scale it to that for me?

You mean total 4' height, correct? Edge to edge of ply sheet, regardless whether I mount on the floor or hang down?

Ok here it is scaled up to 7 feet long. I think this size is more realistic. I flip the profile around to show the single door on the proper side. The walls would hang down over the frame by 2 inches, but you can adjust that as needed. The floor thickness is 1.25 inches. This would give an interior floor space that is 6 feet long. The person in the first photo is 5'2 tall.

Got this for my current solo build on ebay ---

$180 may seem steep, but when compared to the cost of building my own door and the cost of repairing it as well as any resulting damage each season, it's not bad...



There are often cheap windows ('round $50), usually without trim rings, as well. Stainless screws from the outside to hold them on look cool.

Neither of these may be you look but they are leak free.

John, where did you find your door for that price -- the only one like I find are $260 to $280? I may build another smaller tear without as many whistles and bells and an aluminum frame in the under 500# range and do not want to cut down a full size RV door this time. Just too much work for the savings.

You're right. My memory was off. According to my receipt I paid $239 but I don't see my door size listed on Ebay anymore.
