College football season here and tailgaiting. So that means for every home game that's on campus tailgaiting in the bigger RV from Thursday at 5pm till Sunday morning if it's a 7pm Saturday game.

On non football weekends here at home it's hunting season so that means anywhere from a weekend to a week.

My favorite time of the year and last right up till January for football and last of February for hunting season :)

I've never hunted anything in WY other than antelope because it's an easy tag to buy/draw. The only other thing I wouldn't mind hunting there would be moose and I'm saving my once in a lifetime draw/winning the lottery odds for bighorn in other states. I try to make it out to Wyoming and backpack the tetons area or the winds at least every other year.

I'm not a big fan of football on TV, but going out tailgaiting with great food and friends for 3+ days is pretty nice for 5-6 times a year. We entertain and feed tons of people including visitors from the other teams and have had some of the same people stop by and eat for 20+ years in a row every other year. Team was away this weekend.

Been lucky down here in the south our unemployment is barely up from several years ago. Even the housing market barely took a dip here regionally.

It's just now getting to be good building time here now that temps are down in the 70's/80's during the day. I started a new tear about 6 weeks ago and have it walled up and the cabinets in so far.

I think you're right, Mike. It's that mad dash to get in one more camping trip before weather turns too cold or the rains/snow starts. In the Southern states, the weather has cooled enough to start camping again and they are probably excited about that.

I'd like to be at the Nevada gathering this weekend but my tow vehicle broke a part that wasn't in stock and it is being shipped from Michigan. Still, I'd really like to get in at least one more camping trip before I put the trailer in "Dry Dock" for the winter....

Maybe you could use the winter time to make bird houses and bird feeders or other such things out of leftover scrap wood. Then, you could sell them on Ebay or Craigslist or....? and maybe make a few extra bucks while you're in those dark, stormy winter days. You've got the talent and skills to be able to do it. Your little houses and feeders would have to catch the buyers' eye; but, you and Angie could come up with some unique ideas. You could maybe make a couple and put them up for sale and see what happens.... :)

I've been scrambling to get my trailer done before it starts raining here.
I got it wraped up the day before it rained.

Now I have to have it inspected by the State Patrol because it isn't a Silver Shadow any more.

Sue and I are going tomorrow to Myrtle Beach for 3 nights. It's been two years since the last trip, so I'm ready to go! :D

Well we went camping on the Frio River in August, just before school started so it was not as crowded and now we are getting ready for the LCG next month. We may take an overniter in the middle of the week down to Brazos Bend State Park. It is just down the road from us so it won't be a long travel time. Cool weather camping is the best.

We're not here for a long time, just here for a good time.

Went camping last weekend with my son and his family, great time. Lots of crap going on at work,,, new management lots of firing. Wish they would let me go so I don't have to be all stressed about it wondering if today is the day. Too stubborn to quit but I am looking for a new job.
About sums up what is happening here.

No! Fly man Fly!
Even for us up here in Canada, it is 4 hours and 16 minutes Runway to Runway (Kelowna to Puerto Vallarta)
Go to the airport in your winter clothes...... change at the airpot.....get off the plane in your shorts and tank top.
Think of ice cold Margarita's rather than hot chocolat or coffee.

I'm gonna be camping with friends on October 4-7th at Manatee Springs State Park here in sunny Florida. This is the beginning of our best camping months. I only wish we had season changes so we could see the beautiful colors of the trees during fall.

Haven't hunted in years so I won't be doing any of that soon. Last time I hunted white-tail mule deer was when we lived in Nevada and we did get to hunt Antelope in Idaho. Now I get to wake up at a campground and watch the deer walk peacefully throughout the park...pretty cool.

Cowboy, maybe you should try that idea about the birdhouses. My son made me a birdhouse when he was in middle school. I painted it and it is still by far my favorite birdhouse ever! Making those would be a lot more fun than sitting in front of the computer. Make em' to look like a Teardrop - I know they would sell!

Camping season is just getting started in California. It has been in the mid 90's for at least three weeks straight. We will be camping well into December.
