Cause what'll happen is I need to respond to something, and the on screen keyboard is so slow. I end up jumping up and getting on the real computer to reply to a post. Might as well just use a real computer in the first place.

Mike...

I was like that for almost the first year that I owned my tablet, but, when I had to give up my desktop PC to my wife who went back to school, I've started using my tablet almost exclusively. I do head for the computer when I want to type out something lengthy but I've found that with some time on this, it has become handier than a PC for many things. I don't print much anymore using the tablet because I just take it with me. Recipes, it goes to the kitchen, wiring diagrams it goes to the garage, ordering parts for a car is done from the seat in the car etc etc. Pictures, I take a pic, resize it, and upload it on the spot. I'm considering a Bluetooth keyboard to eliminate the need for a PC altogether.

They are more expensive, but the reason I use them both at home and professionally is that they just work. No messing around. Open the app, close the app, turn it off, move on.

There's only 2 things I don't like about the iPad.

1) No USB ports. Makes it hard to play sneakernet from a PC to the tablet. I am not allowed to connect to a work computer with the tablet, so I have to do sneakernet.

2) Unrecognized file types do not show up in the file manager on the iPad. So if I want to write some code in a text editor, and it doesn't recognize the .c extension or the .bas extension, it won't show up.

Both are annoying, Mike. I wish they would do something about the usb issue, but since changing that means trashing the battery life, I don't see Apple doing it.

Hrm, how restictive are they on that work computer. Can you get to a gmail account? There are a couple of ways to get around sneakernetting. I use google drive a lot.

I have regressed to a Lenovo Net Book and cannot load pics into my personal album either. Tried several times and have since given up. Just tried again without success. I've probably built 20 or so computers from scratch and can't seem to get pictures on this forum (never have been good at software issues :( ). I think the ones in my current album were taken with the camera set within the acceptable size up front.

Can you try again now? I add auto resizing earlier this afternoon.

Mike:

The pictures that come from my camera are anywhere between 5 and 8 meg. Even my old cell phone pictures were larger than 2.4 meg. :R

No luck, I get a message that the max upload is 2 gig and my pics are 2.1 t0 2.3. When the weather clears I'll have to try to take a new pic and set my camera to less than 2 meg.

And if your computer says that the picture is too big, and it's really under 3 meg, then clear your cache and try again!

I'm on a regular PC. Should I try it on IPad ? Maybe it won't ask if I'm on that. Will check.

Linda,

If you went to tapatalk then it thinks you are an admin and are trying to install it for your forum.

You'll want to download the tapatalk app directly on your tablet from the AppStore/PlayStore.

Not sure what I did Mike. I thought I went to ITunes. I have the tapatalk app on the IPad. Can read the forum on there, but can't post. Don't think I'm of the right mind to figure this out right now.

What ever I got I think I paid 2.99 for it.

Thanks for your help.
