I have got a lot done on the frame. Still a long way to go. I have to brace the tongue. And a few other small things. Basically another day of welding.

Working on it:

She is finally rolling, besides the bunch of bracing I have to do.

More on Monday.

Well today was kind of productive. I ran out of argon, and paint. Plus it was kind of windy which made welding difficult because it kept blowing my shielding gas away. I would go refill my bottle and buy more paint, but I have to go to work tomorrow. So it will have to wait.

Half of the frame is painted. Also, I have a little bit of welding to do. I tacked up the A frame, but it has to be welded all the way up. Then I have to wrap each end of the center support, because they both will act like a trailer hitch. Since the tongue will slide in/out and the rear will have a hitch receiver.

Doesn't look like I did much, but I flipped the axles, and added another support beam, cut/fitted the A frame, and tacked most of it, welded some. Sanded and painted what I could.

Pics:

Front view. It's upside down too.

Rear view:

It will be another couple weeks before another serious update. Before I can even start working on the cabin, which will go fast, I need a few things.

Door
Hatch hinge
Epoxy
Bed liner

and of course, wood.

Frame is looking fantastic! :applause:  :applause:

(I'm jealous of your welding and metal working skills. BTW.)

So what do you think the axle. I modeled the same axle in my cad program and tried them
under my trailer in the virtual world. I think I’ll still go with a 3 inch drop axle and leaf springs.

Man i really need to learn to weld, your frame looks great.

I like the axles. I also wanted them like that because of the center support that goes front to rear. Since both sides will be holding gear/motorcycles.

As far as welding goes, I wouldn't suggest starting with TIG welding.

Everlast makes great machines. They sell a I-MIG200, that you just can't beat. The welding community gives Everlast welders a lot of crap because they are not American made. But They are good machines.

I would buy one, but I am building 2 motorcycles and this camper. So it's just not in the budget right now.

Here is one of my welds from the trailer:

So I am working on have almost everything together that I need to build the cabin at one time and not wait on parts. Plus I have to finish welding up the frame too. Which is taking the longest because I am doing so much extra stuff that most people don't do. Usually they just buy a trailer and bolt the cabin to it.

So here is what I got this week. By time I come in from work, it should all be there.

4 hinges. 2 for the door, 2 for the hatch: $49.23
Image

2 new RV windows: $197.41
Image

2 awesome fenders: $83.42
Image

Metal taillight holders: $39.98
Image

Mounted:
Image

Door plunger: $10
Image

Door lock: $38
Image

And 10 of these for hold downs in different spots: $22
Image

Right now TCI:$1770.04

I built my own frame too,and it seemed to go the fastest. When it looked halfway done I only had 75% more to go. Keep it up.

I agree. But I wanted to build the trailer my way. So it's taking a little time.

Today I bought:

2- 2" round lights for the taillights: $14.95

Image

And 2 fender lights: $14.95

Image

TCI: $1800

I finally finished up my frame. I had to do a couple of welds on the bottom, then flip the frame over and weld everything else. Then I had to make the tongue extension.

Also, everything has came in the mail. I picked up a bunch of hardware and the Kreg pockethole thing. And a few nick knack things. More to come in a couple of days. I will start the wood working tomorrow.

Thanks. I've been working hard at it for a while now. When I come back in from work, I'll build the cabin. And I think the cabin will go a lot faster than the frame has.

Today, I have been working on the fender, and rack outside the fenders. The boxes will have aluminum diamond plate in them. Tomorrow, I will finish the front ones. Then mount the fenders and wire up the trailer. Hopefully as of tomorrow, I'll be done with this phase.
