New campsite.

Today I pulled my camper out of my hunting spot with the plan of hauling it to work and parking it until the ice get thick enough to drag it out on the lake. I stopped by my dad's place and the suggestion came up that I go park it on some land that he owns. So we drug it over there and he showed me the property lines. It is a beautiful piece of land full of rolling hills and 4 or 5 small, couple acre ponds.

Because of all the rolling hills and ponds and the improvements the previous owner did there are maybe a dozen perfect spots to set up a camper that feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, even though you are only 1/4 mile from the road.

So for now I am going to leave it there until the first real snowfall (I don't want to get it snow in and suck there all winter). I hope to try out some of the other sites this next summer.

Also the best part: Now I can tell people I have a cabin on a lake.

That is very very possible .... I have lived in Wisconsin where there are loads and loads of lakes on one property and the land does roll.
It is just like California there are large cities and lots of open land between. But the mascitos are 3 times bigger and when it gets hot is like being in the over where is out here in CA you are just siting on the stove.

But I fo agree Pictures would make those words sound even more wonderful.

sounds like a great place my niece lives in Wisconsin on a farm outside Appelton
they have many great places to camp on their farm one with a pond near by loaded with fish.
another near the river that flows through their farm I've never fished the river just the pond.
In the past we have set up camp on a couple of their places and we had fresh caught fried fish for lunch yummy.
since I camped there they have install electric on the one near the pond a truly beautiful place.
I am a pilot and we stayed there when we camped instead of flying my plane to visit the Osh Gosh flyin.

This sounds like 95% of all the great places to camp in B.C.
I was just trying to remember if I've ever camped where there wasn't trees, ponds, lakes or rivers and the answer is no.
This spring I'm camping at this spot where the trees are so thick that you almost have to walk to one of the lakes to see what the skies doing.

Kansas, comes to mind.
the trees, more like skinny sticks than trees in Oklahoma all lean due to the wind
California high desert or the "inland empire" area
I've camped in many treeless spots I prefer not to but some times ya just gotta ........

Shhhh. We don't want our increasing population to increase faster! It rains all the time here and our houses and clothes reek of mildew.

Funny, I live out in the sticks--in the woods, where people from more populated areas come to get away from it all. My friends and I find that we do not mind going to state parks that are in towns, or camping in town, because it is different than our homes in the woods.
