OK, then in order to show what you need I would draw it as a solid model...no need to
re-invent the wheel when all you need to get your point across to others is a photo of a styrofoam ice chest.
But in order for you to look at it and consider it and ponder on it while you're waiting for Lark, you can draw it and change things like wall thickness.
check the measurements... maybe play with different furnishings etc.

I tried to attach a solid model photo last time I replied but couldn't I'll try again now.

Nope, didn't work. I understand the need for smaller files but my sketchup drawings cut and past into Paintshop Pro at about 1800-2000 pixels per inch.
After cropping and re-sizing them down to a nice 640 x 480 they look like crap...any suggestions?

Hi Ironman

I use a Mac so I just click on command, shift & # 4 ....
that takes a screen shot, of the area I select,
if its to large I can make the screen & screenshot smaller

you could also send the Module per e mail - then people can spin it around
on their own computer & make changes :-))

Just an idea

They're both correct actually, 3 is for the whole screen, 4 is so you can crop it if need be.

Hi guys,
For me it's "alt, Printscrn for a low res screenshot at 72 pixels in paintshop pro 8.
When I try to resize it I can change the resolution to anything I want so I first tried 200 dpm and then 1000 dpm.
This results in about 2800 - 3000 pixels wide which I then reduce to 600 wide for uploading but it's still too big to upload.

On my business website I try to make everything 600 wide and it never results in a crappy, jagged looking photos.

Could it be the format...jpeg? I can save it most anything.

REDUCED IT DOWN TO 1000 PIXELS WIDE AND SAVED IT IN GIF FORMAT.
NOW IT WORKS

I think this is an interesting-and well-thought out project. I'm having trouble finding a basic floor plan though.

I haven't posted a simple floor plan because I believe the 3D drawing shows my ideas best.
Interior assembly is modular, starting at the front and working your way to the back:
First comes the bulkhead which creates the front lockers.
Next the head/shower is 3' x 5' with the closet taking up what's left of the width.
Behind that is a 30" x 24" counter with a cut-out for my kerosene heater/cooker on the driver's side and the 32" door on the curbside.
Beneath the counter is a utensil drawer and below that is the A/C
Behind that are two opposing settee's that are 30" x 62.5" with a wedge cushion for a seat back which should make them very comfortable but also the 30" bottom cushion makes a good single bed in a pinch. The sliding Gypsy table comes from just under the mattress platform and is 5' long. At this table should be a very nice place to sit with my laptop and plan my next move.
Next on the way back is a 60" x 80" queen sized bed with spacer storage on both ends for small stuff (My glasses, medicine & etc)
Below the bed is an array of drawers to store foldable clothing which is mostly all I would need ie: Jeans and Golf shirts plus sox and underwear. Everything else I can hang either in the closet or the front storage. Items such as rain coat and cold weather stuff.
There is a row of upper cabinets along the 12' length of the cabin on the driver's side for such things as coffee makings above the stove & a change of linens for the bed and other items used inside such as salt n pepper etc. I have shown a gun rack on the curb side but anything or nothing at all could be put there.
Aft of the bed is the bulkhead separating the cabin from the pantry and prep area. Actual cooking and dishwashing is done from fold-down table tops mounted on the barn doors swung open wide.
Not mentioned before but shown in some of my drawings are a couple of floor safes. One easy to get to in the closet and another somewhere else. The 12 ft central cabin area aft of the bathroom to the back of the bed is all raised up on 2 x 6 framing which lends that entire area to make use of in some fashion.

The general idea here is to provide enough of the comforts I want but not so many that I am tied down by the grid. Self reliance and ingenuity are the watchwords for me.

It has been suggested my design needs tandem axles. Makes it hard to back up to since the trailer can't be turned very easily side to side (not that I haven't done it a million times) I guess I would have a hard time getting a factory trailer that size with only a single axle, but if I have to build my own trailer from scratch I can make up for the load capacity of two axles by going to the next heavier sized axle (5200 #).

It's also been suggested that my design should be done on a 7 ft wide chassis. Yes, it could be if you don't mind playing footsie with whoever is sitting across from you at the table.

Another idea is to mount/install this cabin onto a 4ft longer trailer frame leaving an open space forward with an expanded metal floor and side loading ramp for a couple of motorcycles or an ATV. The ramp could just fold up and out of the way. With the bike or ATV removed the platform would make accessing the front locker easier too.

If you're really interested in my exact dimensions email me and I'll post the sketchup file(s) so you can download, study and modify/correct it to suit you.
