have watch mike slowly grow from a timid likeable guy to one who has grown and opened up
so much so that he has taken on the task of being the host of a teardrop gathering called "walk-the-winds"
that is something, being a host, I would not want to do myself. but mike stepped up and decided he would do one.
From reading the many post that followed it was a huge sucess so much so Mike has agreed to have another one this year (2013).
from time to time mike and I have exchanged PM's discussing things that don't concern the rest of the forum
things that are just between he and I.
this post was to be for the newbees but most so far applies to the rest of us as well.
My vote for forum member of the year 2012 has to go to Mike aka slowcowboy...........any seconds?

I can't think of but a small handful or members here could attract 19 people to come from all over the country to meet them at a gathering. But you did. I still remember the look on your face as you pulled into Walk the Winds this year. It was fear. But you composed yourself and started talking to people. They were much like you in your love of teardrops and the outdoors. It was cool to see how relaxed you got. So much so that at dinner I suggested you say a few words to the group. You stood right up on a bench and thanked everyone for attending and helping make your first gathering a success. Mike, you get it. People like you for who you are. Your not afraid to say what is on your mind, what ever that may be, and we appreciate it.
You have my vote for man of the year!

However, I recieved a reply from him via PM, so he must have read it somewhere. Am I doing something wrong? I thought I had a good handle on posting and such, but perhaps I have more to learn. I took typing in High School, because all of the pretty girls were in typing class. And now I use it often. :-)
