Let me add a little to Mike's (slowcowboy) post those of us who have been on here a small amount of time like myself,
have watch mike slowly grow from a timid likeable guy to one who has grown and opened up
so much so that he has taken on the task of being the host of a teardrop gathering called "walk-the-winds"
that is something, being a host, I would not want to do myself. but mike stepped up and decided he would do one.
From reading the many post that followed it was a huge sucess so much so Mike has agreed to have another one this year (2013).

from time to time mike and I have exchanged PM's discussing things that don't concern the rest of the forum
things that are just between he and I.

this post was to be for the newbees but most so far applies to the rest of us as well.

My vote for forum member of the year 2012 has to go to Mike aka slowcowboy...........any seconds?

Well said Mike. You really do get it. You have slowly (get it) come out of your shell to see there is a big old world out there full of people that love what you do. I can't think of but a small handful or members here could attract 19 people to come from all over the country to meet them at a gathering. But you did. I still remember the look on your face as you pulled into Walk the Winds this year. It was fear. But you composed yourself and started talking to people. They were much like you in your love of teardrops and the outdoors. It was cool to see how relaxed you got. So much so that at dinner I suggested you say a few words to the group. You stood right up on a bench and thanked everyone for attending and helping make your first gathering a success. Mike, you get it. People like you for who you are. Your not afraid to say what is on your mind, what ever that may be, and we appreciate it.

You have my vote for man of the year! 8)

I too have not had opportunity to meet Mike face to Face but thru the Forum I feel like we are good friends already.
We plan to be back to Wyoming to attend "Walk In The Winds" this coming August.
Can't wait to meet you "offline" Mike!

Hmm, yesterday I posted a comment on this topic, regarding Slow's thoughts. I searched for it after I submitted it, but thought it was lost into the bathesphere. However, I recieved a reply from him via PM, so he must have read it somewhere. Am I doing something wrong? I thought I had a good handle on posting and such, but perhaps I have more to learn. I took typing in High School, because all of the pretty girls were in typing class. And now I use it often. :-)

Roly I too took typing in High school I was the only boy in the class
it has served me well over the past 60 years since, first in the Navy and then in my job all those 41 years.
If I had know how handy it would have come in I would have taken Home-ecc, I'll bet I would have been given the bussiness
if I had tried cooking was self taught long after school.
I don't know why it was frowned on if you were a boy when there are so many men chefs.

oh well
