Hey Bob,

I think your ventilation idea is interesting and a good idea.

I was wondering though, if you're going to stagger the intakes
and outlets. Airflow can be unpredictable and I have a suspicion
that if they were located 'inline' they might just act too much
in a 'direct' fashion. Staggering them would probably force more
mixing. I don't have any direct experience with such, just normal
life experience with fans and such, and sometimes the smallest
thing can have a big effect.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Well if you look a half dozen post up you see I started a storage coffee table. While I do not have the corner trim on yet here is the almost fully finished storage/coffee table.

I know it may look a bit rough to some of you cabinet makers outthere but it was done entirely with scrap and c#%p using only a circular saw a jig saw and my drill. OK I did cut the dado in the shelf rails on the table saw at work. The nice thing there is not one cent invested in it. Nope not one penny ! Even the screws and the plexi top were removed from the free projection TV's I gathered!

As my Monday update.....

One almost complete coffee table a bill rack and I even ventured out in the cold.....

The same popup that netted me the drawers also had these slid out bed supporting floors. They are being used as the walls between the kitchen and bath area.

Inside of drywall to inside of drywall is 6' 8" so a wall on each side of 27" leaves about a 26" doorway. I am placing the walls 10 to 12 inches apart and building 2 shelves that will also act as doors. The right one walking into the bath area in the rear will have pantry items and face into the kitchen while the left one will also slide closed and will face rearward into the bath for linen and other bath needs. Yep 2 disappearing storage shelve/door combos for the same door. These are now cut and ready to install.

Oh, Bob! You're getting even more clever in your old age. It'll be fun to see those shelf doors done and in place! :applause:

The Monday update.......

Well the sun was out making it seem a bit warmer than it actually was so with a guilty concenious I decide it was time to get busy. So electrical was the topic foremost in my mind but first I had to install the walls between the galley kitchen and the bath area. Upon installing them the tiny house really closed in on me. I may have to rethink the potty room privacy issue. So disgusted I turned to the electrical and installed 4 duplex outlets 3 switchs and four of the eight wall sconces. I had company so I balanced my time in and outside so as not to ignore my guest and ultimatly gave up and turned my thoughts to dinner.

On another note I have found a farmer with 1200 acres who has no problem with a tiny house on the edge of his property. Rent is real reasonable and he needs seasonal help. I will be 70 miles from my current work so retirement is looking a bit more permanent than it currently is. Lots to think about ! :?

It might be just a mental adjustment needed, what with being used to everything open; plus, the added stress company and all.... If you visit it again in the next few days, you might find that you feel okay about it, ya never know! Congratulations on finding a place to move it to, should you need to act fast.

Need a little electrical advice........

I have installed four 9 volt LED desk lamps as long necked wall sconces over the galley counter. The flexible neck will allow me to direct the soft white light at will where needed. I would like to power them with both the AC when available and the DC when off grid. They are equiped with 120v AC to 9 volt DC plug in wall wart transformers. I have a 9 volt DC tap on the solar setup I can utilize to get the needed 9 volt DC without the transformers. I would like to tap into the lamp cord between the lamp and the transformer and supply the 9 volt directly from solar to the lamp. My concern is back feed thru the transformer backwards. Conversely what happens when the ac converted 9 volt DC is fed into the solar panel controller ? Short of adding a double pole double throw switch to select the now converted ac or the solar dc power what are the problems of simply tapping in as described above and allowing the backfeed. Is there a better way to allow either power source without having to add yet more switching . Perhaps a diode or other type of check valve to isolate the currents automatically ?
