We kind of hi-jacked your thread, didn't we?! Glad that you can laugh about it and go right on.

Now, back to the "business" that you had in mind...... :poop:

Uh, Hmmm, Hmmm(Cough, Cough) Excuse me, may I cut in and get this thread back on track?I know, I didn't say please

I / we vote for the luggable loo. The picture below is the best one I could find in my gallery that shows our storage / transport for "the bucket". In the last days before our 5000+ mile vacation last fall we thought it would be a good idea to take something along "just in case" not knowing WHAT would be available when "the need arises".

I wanted the 5 or 6 gal bucket for the height (I'm 6'4"+) but had 3 1/2 gal drywall mud buckets on hand. We don't keep "the seat" attached to the bucket while traveling, but snapped the original lid back on it to keep it sealed. To hold it in place while traveling (since I didn't want to store it in the galley with the food) I made a "holder" for it by cutting the bottom and about 2" up on the side of another bucket (sort of making a shallow pan), drilled holes to allow 2 hose clamps to go through the bottom and wrap around the 2" frame to secure it. The potty bucket then sits in front of the tongue box, in the shallow pan, and I use a bungee cord under the frame to secure it from bouncing out. The 3 1/2 gal bucket is pretty well flush with the top of the tongue box and doesn't interfear with access to the box.
It would probably be comfortable for me to use mounted on the tongue, but she insists we put it in an inclosure (our side tent). ;)

We batted around what to use IN the bucket for the, uh, well, you know, uh, "stuff". Some say cat litter, some peet moss, (I guess "potting soil" could be appropriate in this case too  ) but we chose to just put about a 1/2 gal of water with a little bit of bleach in it. (works for the indoor plumbing) Figured if we used it, this could be disposed of in a rest park toilet or even a dump station at the camp ground or truck stop. The dump station would be ideal in this case, empty the bucket down the hole, water is available to hose it out and refill it. Could even use plastic "grocery sacks" with a little cat litter / oil dry in the bucket secured by snapping it under the seat / lid. The bag could then be tied and tossed into a dumpster so that it is "disposed of properly in a land fill".
We never needed to use it, but it was there for us the entire trip. Brought the same water home with us that we took, and with the bleach in it, it didn't "stagnate". (ahhhh, fresh as a daisy  )

We originally was leaning towards the colapsable, folding stool kind, but after talking with the worker in BP that had one colapse on him while "in use" (he said it wasn't pretty :frightened: ) we changed gears.

Anyway, here's the picture of the "assembly" below (gosh I wish I could figure out how to make that picture bigger, somebody pm me with help on that)

98357

I get kind of tickled when I think about using it though, noises in a hollow plastic bucket, hmmmmm, low thunder? :gas:
So, any of you that know me, if you wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat with that vision dancing around in your head, that'll be me. :poop: :beautiful:

Ok I ordered the Tote-able Toilet Seat & Lid. Although it is similar to the luggable loo. The seat lid has a feature that you can snap/seal closed without taking the seat off the bucket. I also got a pop up privacy shelter for under $38 . Got both on Amazon they had the best prices although shipping kind of was pricy but it is a one stop shop.

Tote-able Toilet™ Seat & Lid from Emergency Essentials
$9.95

I figure I can always upgrade if this does not suit our needs.

That's a good price and it looks like the lid latches closed, which might be a good feature with kids and a dog around. Also, you can use a bucket of your choosing to snap it onto. :applause:

That's why it mounted on the TONGUE OF THE TRAILER and not in the galley or the TV

There's no way that I am going to travel with a (excuse me) "full load", either, Slow.
I empty mine every morning, if it needs it, and use the public facilities during the day.
It beats meeting a bear :frightened: or surprising a skunk  in the dark. I came within 3 feet of getting sprayed by a black and white "kitty" one time; and, if I hadn't jumped fast and run, I would've needed a lot of Dawn and tomato juice!

Apparently you haven't been through North Dakota, it's about a hundred miles between trees. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go. Your still young Mike, someday you'll understand, the older you get it's not "gotta go now", it's " RIGHT NOW!!!!"

Locals don't always take the freeways and highways, Brian. Growing up as a kid in the country, if we had to "go", Dad would drive down a side road and stop near some bushes or whatever and get close to the roadside ditch, if there was one. Then, we would open the doors on the passenger side (Most cars back then were 4-door.) and use the car and its doors to hide behind while we did what we needed to do. Even today, on the back roads and on some of the country highways, public restrooms can be few and far between. Also, there are miles of land in the West and Midwest where there may not be much of a road, if any.

Rather than fill up this thread, look here to see 4 pictures of the Wyoming country side that I uploaded just for you. You’re in for a treat!

Thanks Sharon
Loved the pictures........they looked very familier. I will have to check mine.
We crossed northern Wyoming last summer.
Thru Yellowstone from the north, out the east gate to Cody, up over the Bighorn Mountains to Ranchester. Down thru Sheridan and accross 90 to Deadwood.
Saw some beautiful country in Wyoming. Can't wait to ge back to see more this Summer.
