One good thing about it. I did everything just once. That's because I took my time and thought everything outWimperdink wrote:To be fair, your $3,500 in 2002 would equate to about $4,400 in 2013 according to http://www.measuringworth.com/uscompare/relativevalue.php :-)

Guess I got out of control.![]()
Even though I have always been known for my ability to shop for bargains and work with what I have!
My project that I thought would be 2 to 3 weeks.....................Let's build a cheap sleeper traler from a car????????????
Obviously escalated into a major 14 month project!![]()
That, with the man hours put in by myself and my employees, cost way more than anyone could have ever imagined.![]()
Even though I enjoyed the build immensly, the reality is that it cost way MORE than we thought!![]()
I have seriously not done the math yet.....only because I am afraid!![]()
Truth is, I know it is somewhere beteen $50,000.00 & $60,000.00.
I know that everyone here is trying to impress everyone else with how little they spent to build their Tear Drops. And don't have to account for their time. As it is their spare time or their hobby.![]()
Well, I could write off my time too.....if I wasn't still in business and paying my employees that assisted with this project on time that I could have billed out!!!
Not that I regret it , as it is money that I could have spent on a ready made "Motorhome" or "RV" that I don't think would have given us the pleasure we hope to receive from Tear Drop camping and the people we hope to meet in the Tear Drop Community..........I have already had a motor home and hated it! I am a tenter at heart, but getting old!
Good Roads
