A better alternative is to fill a solar bag of water in the morning and hang it someplace in the sun all day. You will have hot water ready in the evening when it's time to do dishes with no necessity of heating it on the stove. Solar shower bags take up virtually no room to store when empty. You can carry as many of them as you need to meet your requirements for washing up of anything you care to keep clean.

Now that is a great idea, Becky. If you have one of those folding camp kitchens, you just hang the shower in the sun on the rack and run the hose to the sink tub. I may just have to remember this idea.

Check out my pics, I use a 6 gal water container from walmart. Its nice to be able to remove it and refill without moving the trailer to a water source. Also, if you dry camp a lot like I do, just purchase xtra jugs, then swap out as needed. At the very most I go thru 1 6gal jug a day between 2 people.

I'm also in the design phase and wondering if anyone has had any luck mounting a tank near the ceiling and running a 3/8" line down to a faucet, using gravity feed only (???)

I don't remember who, but a few years ago someone here used a large section of PVC above the galley, and it worked well, might be pictures floating around?
The idea in general works well, and has been used many times over the years by both trailer manufacturers, and home builders.

Quite a while back, someone made a removable shelf for their teardrop, on the outside, up near the roof line. Going from memory, I think they then plumbed a 5 gallon water tank from Walmart with flexible plastic tubing and fittings. When at camp, the water tank sat on the shelf. When traveling, the water tank and removable shelf sat on the counter.

I needed so etching that my 8 year old could easily use. So I use 6 gallon jugs for the water tank, and no sink, but I have a faucet with a pump. I have a dip tube that goes in the water jug after we arrive. I can use my plastic tub for dish washing etc where ever makes sense. I can also run a hose, or hook it to a shower system. I can fill the 6 gallon jug anywhere. And if they leak, no problem, I have 2.
