I put the call out , just waiting on some friends to come help me move the skeleton on to the trailer ... Should go fairly quick once that gets done ... ;)

Still stuck at the same stage of assembly , waiting for helpers ... :duh: While waiting , decided to Clean up the mess in the Studio ... Got an amp buddy in from Australia ( I make tube guitar amps too ) , don’t want him to see a messy yank' eh ... :frightened:
At least , the yard guys will be over tomorrow , so I can get them to help ..... Once the framework is on the trailer I can start attaching it to the floor and adding the foam ...up to 4’ high ... and then we have to do the kerfing’ ... :frightened: :NC I did the calculations , wrote down the measurements ... still “not sure” ....??? Have to make that kerf tool now ...

Got a nice new HF HD tarp to throw over it all to keep it dry while we’re getting it finished , outside ...

WOW!!! :? :o I go away for a two week business trip and LOOK AT YOU!!! :applause:  :applause: That skeleton is amazing. Those CNC ribs are awesome! Got me thinking that I will need to try that on the next build. I've been playing with the idea of something bigger, something like a foam 5th wheel. This could be the answer. Can't wait to see the skeleton on the frame. For my two cents, I kinda like an elliptical front end, but 3 feet of overhang should be not problem. As far as sleeping surfaces, my wife and I slept on a futon mattress for 3 months while we were sleeping in the guest room as I was remodeling the master bedroom. I can't recall exactly what it was built with but it was not foam, it is stuffed with some sort of batting if my memory serves me correctly. It weighs a ton but was/is very comfortable. I like it better than my very expensive mattress on our bed now. Since you seem to be the master of thrifty, the mattress might be more expensive than the Foamstream so... 8) :R . Can't wait to see how the foam goes on!

Thanks Mel !!! The only problem so far is I’m doing it all by myself ... having to prop things up , square it off, clamp this , hold that ...I even screwed rib #1 to the loft wall and ran a plumb line ... With two people (the wife is Useless , Polish girl ! ) It would have been on the trailer already  ... The skeleton is just a too awkward to move by myself , it really doesn’t weigh that much , just @ 10’ long it’s cumbersome for one ... two people , no problem !
Toughest part was moving around those OSB sheets ... Pretty HEAVY stuff ... :frightened: Old muscles still recovering from that day I can tell you ... :o But that will keep most of the weight low on the trailer , low center of gravity ... since my trailer is a little taller than wide :o ...I dare say the floor (OSB @ 3 sheets 3/4” thick, plus the (6 ) 2X4s ) weighs More than the rest of the skeleton plus foam combined ... WAG, 195# just the OSB ... based on 2.5#/ sq.ft. and floor area Trailer and floor are already likely around 600# (guesstimating )... Luckily the shell/cabin will be much lighter ... Still shooting for < 1000# ...

Ps. the wife is going for the Futon/pillow idea , like the pics posted earlier ;) ... Likely making them myself out of what ever’s on sale at the fabric store ... That and we have a ton of little decorative pillows gathered over the years , so we can use those as a comfort supplement , propping up old parts that need more support .. :D And if that doesn’t work , the “Her Grace” will go shopping ... as usual ...

I figured out the same things doing my build. Sheet goods weigh way too much and it's not the weight it's the awkwardness of the bigger pieces made of foam (in your case the skeleton ribs) that make it difficult to move. At the time of my build I had my son at home but he was of very little help. My wife has never been able to help much. Sometimes if I just had a third arm and a 8 foot arm span, I know I could do most everything by myself. :o :o :o :o

Now a bit taller than I expected ..

I got that surprise too - downside of keeping the deck up high I guess...what looked reasonable on paper was a behemoth in 3D

Some beer will help with the height problem. In more ways than one.

But looking good. 13 days until windy season.
