Spent too much time at Lakehurst NJ flying foam models in the old Hindenburg hanger (hanger #1) ... I knew there was something familiar about that shape :D ...
Pretty cool now , only 85F  Hope it’s nice in the morning .... really want to get the nose finished and start sanding / shaping ... then the back wall/door framing and more foam ... canvas is on the way so hopefully we’ll get this thing “dried in” so we can get on to the "interior decorating" ...

Hmmm? Wonder what the Hindenburg looked like on the inside ... It was light and had a “gasbag” in it .... just like mine eh ? ...

NOTE: One thing that has become obvious to many of you ... in my attempts to save Coin , and using the foam blocks that had to be cut ... er, some of my sheets were thicker than the others  ... Those pesky paddleboarders took the premium (uniform thickness) sheets and have since abandoned their project (after we fired them from the band)
IF , I had used the more expensive uniform thickness sheets of the Blu or Pink foam , this would have been a whole lot easier .... and requiring less great Stuff ... This has been a challenge , even for me ... Good thing the “skin” will cover the multitude of sins ... Just sayin ‘ ...

That is coming along nicely GPW... I guess mine doesn't look quite so big now. I was tired of being the "fat kid".   Paint it silver, fake in some rivets and you'll have folks envying your "Airstream". :R 8)

Mel , Although I’m well aware of spatial concepts , it really turned out even BIGGER than I expected .. :o Good thing it’s light !!! The little drawing was Cute ( It worked for the wife) , but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to call it a "Tiny Travel Trailer" ... :R

Bonnie , “Thrifty is as Thrifty does “ .. for my situation , Thrifty is the Only way to go . (retired) It’s taken all my salvage skills to be able to build Thrifty  That and August- September is coming ... filled with the usual horrors... :frightened: Have to be ready to BUGOUT for an undetermined period ... ;) Hard lesson learned last time ... being gone for an unexpected 6 weeks ...

I just hope all my efforts may serve to Help others with their “situations” ..

Nose closed in .... now the carving and sanding begin ... :D The top looks like “the Wall” in GOT ... :o Some shaping on the inside too will be needed ... plenty of stock for removal ..
Note: I “could” have been more scientific about the “rings” , measuring and cutting to the correct size , but It’s HOT and i just wanted to get it finished and go sit in front the fan... :fan:

Steve, I could use a nice AC about now ... Thinking once we get the outside done , I’ll frame in for the little AC unit and use that while doing the interior ... 8) Only going to get HOTTER as summer goes along ... :o :frightened:

Here’s a pic with a little stock removal done with the electric carving knife ... Lots more to remove ... Got a big contractor bag to put the shavings into , just preventing an even bigger mess to clean up ... ;)

If you got room just vent portable out the floor and exceedingly easier to install and remove. I bought pvc drain plug to plug mine when ac is out. Plus you can pull it out and use it in your shop or house if needed.

Steve, I just discovered that too ... the old belt sander with a coarse belt really hogs off the excess... 8) :D The EC Knife , as you said , got Hot ... :o Enough for now ... looks like rain ... again ...

This nose is turning out to be more sculpture than science... Might have to add a few fill pieces (schmaybe’ ) ... no problem with foam ...

Steve , I was just going to get a cheap little 5K BTU window shaker for the side , mid trailer ...Just a little hatch on the floor to slide the AC in and out , for when needed.... like Now !!! If It breaks , I can always replace it easily on the road ...
All that insulation , that should be More than enough huh ? ... or at least enough to keep the Beer cold and the wife happy (frozen) ...

At hd the portables are only like 160 8k unit now and walmart has raised the 5k up to 115. The 45 extra is worth the ease of install.

Cheapest portable HD unit I can find is $240 for a 7K. I would really be interested in what model number is for this. I'm getting ready to cut my wall for a window shaker, but I'd I could find a portable for $160 it would be way worth it since I won't need it often.
