After using the trim router

thanks to the one (sorry I don't remember name) who mentioned using palm sander between coats. Used MinWax polyurethane stain (combo).

how did you install the window on your door. sealant, etc.. looks easier than putting in an rv window???

The windows (walls and door) were installed at the factory. However, they leaked and caused rust as they had been sealed with caulk. I stripped everything done and used butyl rubber tape. The pictures above are from adding a total of 2" insulation requiring cutting new plywood to allow for the windows.

Hmm.......not good. So is the window in the door an ordinary "house" window and installed the same way except for no outer trim???

thanks

When I pulled it out, there is a trim ring on the inside that screwed into the frame......it looked like a bathroom window out of a mobile home.....

I have also used vertical windows in a 7x14

Word of advice......I used a sawzall for this opening since I was off-site and had left my sabre saw at home.......I should have waited.....

I used 6' vertical E-track cut to fit. The bottom rests on top of the 6" baseboard, with 1 side being screwed into the metal studs......successfully I might add without screwing into any wires..... :worship:

I had originally used the light-weight aluminum warning plate for my backplate............it was too flimsy.......ended up buying an aluminum plate at Home Depot. Then cut to size.....

130000 130001

looks more sturdy.......however, I had to add 2 layers of ⅜" plywood to give enough back room for the wires and connectors

Electrical panel

130172

Center is the PD4045 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XRU6FM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Top Left is surge protector http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050EGS5W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Bottom left is remote switch for inverter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002W87JNO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Far right is remote meter for Morningstar solar controller http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007TNT1LK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is in the V of the nose, towards ceiling. I miscalculated the vent fan placement, so it sits ~ 4" in front of the electronics. The wires below the shelf will be covered with an upright panel which will also house a 120v outlet.

Started on the side table, counter height

130227

The plan was to put the 12v cooler on the floor but thanks to input from members, decided to put on roller shelf.
130228

By raising the cooler, this allowed me to place the battery under the shelf, thereby closer to the axles
130229
you can see the battery in the back. The slides are these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B511DK4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then put the 2nd coat of this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Henry-687-4-75-Gal-Enviro-White-Roof-Coating-HE687406/202091034?MERCH=RV-_-rv_nav_plp_rr-_-NA-_-202091034-_-N......yep, expensive. But after the 1st coat, I could tell a huge difference.....the sun had been shining for over 6 hours with the ladder racks being warm to touch but the roof was still very cool to touch.

130230

I plan on putting 4 coats on. I haven't any made a dent in how much I've used (after 2 coats). Appears to be sealing everything......

Decided to beef up the support on the rolling shelf and provide a stop at the same time......used a 1" x 2" angle strap from Home Depot cut to length

130386

smoothed off the corners
130387

One problem with a rolling shelf is movement during travel. Used a 16p nail at a downward angle to keep in
130391 130390 130389 130388

You can see that not only does the nail block the wood but also the metal slide. The nail point was clipped and filed smooth.

Nail stop is an efficient idea. Just don't lose the nail. Maybe have another hole to store it in. Or tie a line on it.

Had to figure out a way to keep from getting locked in on the barn doors.....

130477 130478
decided to use the trick from others on the side door.......Used a stainless steel eye-bolt, drilled through, added caulk, you can see it to the L of the lock

130480
the eye-bolt is to the L of the handle

130479
Used a ½" bit to open the hole for the lock shank

130481
final product - with the cam locked in this position, the doors still open from the inside. Will use a barrel bolt on the inside to "secure" from the inside....
