Then it hit me in an instant-- a sliding bed is what I need.

So, I built a sliding bed in order to have a night time porta potti space, and then I cover it up in the daytime.
I gained 3ft of space in the rear at night, then I transferred that 3ft of space to the front of the camper in the daytime. Another advantage is the window A/C won't be so close to the bed. Have you ever seen this done before? What do you think?

- slide forward for the night-
slide back in the morning-
night time-- bed moves forward to reveal the porta potti.
easy access to the potti at night-
bed slides to cover up the potti in the daytime-
-
the wall rail- ripped from a 2x3.
The the bed frame slide track on the wall - I will screw a small strip on the wall above the bed frame, so it doesn't bounce out of the track on the road.
