My $.02... and this is purely intended to imply that you are a braver man than I... I would be much more likely to build a lifting roof with a cofferdam, like Sharon's MyAway, but would probably stick with soft sides like Mike Young's build. In fact, if I do ever build a second it might even be a trolley top slouchy, or even full standy. But then again, towing efficiency isn't my biggest concern.

Long ago I've decided to do this build as an experiment of something that was not done before and see what happens as I go. As you could see even the conceptual design has changed since I started the build, because I found things I did not think of before. I am not afraid of failures, I learn from them. This build is a journey, but I would like to finish it sometime sooner rather than later and go testing, sorry, I mean camping. :)

KC, for side filling wall the seal would look something like that, right?

And with the roof down it would be like this:

Except for one thing on the above: I would put the hinge inside the juncture... forgot about that, i need this to look neat :) .

Nice sketch. I think I would put the seal right toward the weather side and avoid the extra cut. Keep the water out, all the way out. Also, no groove for water to settle into; would just spill out.

So it would become very similar to Winter Warior seal sketch above, except for D-cell seal, right?

This is more like what I have been thinking; outside is to the right. It's just fewer cuts and with the seal stuck to the upper piece you still get the lip on the lower section that water would have to climb (if it got by the seal).

It might be worthwhile to study the WW plans further; search for related threads; and even PM angib to make sure that there was not some other legitimate reasoning for the double step (zig-zag) joint. Like I said, all I can think of is that it forms a bit of a "key" to, in theory, stiffen the wall, relying less on the hinge.

But again, I have not studied the design in detail.
