James, I can’t believe that Madjack didn’t add "Please Post Pics of anything you come up with".

p.s. I don't have anything paticularly against the B&D charger...it would probably make a great home charger, it is just not what I wanted.........MJ

Thanks MJ.
Your opinion is valued greatly. I looked at the product you use, and if you say that would be a better product, I'll get one asaIc. The price isn't bad either. Does it have an on/off switch that has to be turned on to work like the B&D? or can it be set to on so when you connect to shore power, it is automatically on? Having to turn on the B&D every time was the only thing I didn't like about it.

Dooner, the unit is meant to be hardwired into the system and plugged in as needed...it will not cause a discharge when not plugged in...it has no switch(that I ever found), just plug it in and fahgitaboutit.......

 8) COOL! That is exactly what I want.

Oh yeah, one more question that I just thought about. Have you noticed any interferance with the radio or tv while in use? Either on the 12v side or 120v side?

Dooner, since I have no TV and use a little boom box for radio, I can't answer your question BUT, I believe that TonyJ, Rob48 and possibly Danny(and others) all use this setup...they may be able to answer your question...

Thanks for all the info MJ. Now if these guys will ring in and let me know about any interferance, I'll be on the road to getting a new charger. :D

Hi Dooner,

No, never have we experienced interference of any kind, on either side.

We've been very happy with the unit. It does a great job of keeping my two 6 volt golf cart batteries in top shape.

I'll be using the same charger on my next project...

Rob
Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

Thanks for the info Rob. Now, if Tony or Danny doesn't ring in and give a bad report on theirs, I will be getting one very soon.

Dooner,

No interference of which I am aware. Have noticed none through the radio, and it has gotten the most use. Since I've never hooked up an antenna to the TV, not sure about any interference there, but have noticed none when watching DVD's.

I am on my second charger unit like MJ has. I was never able to determine if the problem I had was charger or battery related, and I replaced both. The charger was just a little over a year old and they replaced it (which I hadn't expected). Since September, I have had no problems.

Like MJ said, no switch on the unit. I opted to leave the plug on mine so I can disconnect it from the outlet when I don't want it on. That came in handy on the first unit because it would go into full charge mode every time I plugged into shore power, overcharging the battery and making those nasty fumes we shouldn't inhale while we sleep. I haven't had that problem with the replacement as it seems to be correctly sensing the charge status of th battery. In lieu of plugging and unplugging the unit, you could hardwire it into a circuit with its own breaker.

All considered, I still give the Deltran a  .
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Thanks for the info Tony. Sounds like some good reveiws. I'm putting it on top of my shopping list.

I went to the Deltran site to do some reading and found this cool looking battery tender. I'm not saying it is another one to get, because it says do not use in extreme conditions. I just thought it was cool looking.

It is 800Mah with dual battery charger.
