Hmm Dave... the BLT? That is too funny to actually use but that is pretty creative and has character and some tongue in cheek humor as well! Very nice! My truck has the original paint on it and it is all original except for the steering wheel, so I am going to keep it as it is. I like the faded look actually, gives it character, no one will want to steal it, and I can go off roading through the brush with out worrying about scratches! My old truck was black and it did look really cool in front of the teardrop because it was an older model. I also have a black Town Car I drive daily, I need to get a hitch on it to start saving some gas, and that would look sweet together, but I like taking the truck camping more actually.
Hey Mike, Thank you very much for the compliment! I was just going for something to my taste!
In Texas it doesn't matter what color it is, it is HOT... I have a black car and had a black truck and yeah it's a little bit hotter, but it's all a bunch of hype when you crank up the A/C. The only difference I would think would be surface temperature and I better not catch anyone climbing up on my trailer anyway!
Actually, it the heat of the summer you won't find me camping, and if on the off chance I am, there will be an easyup over it, so it's a non-issue as far as I am concerned.
People also say the same about black because you can see it get dirty faster like it's something to fear. I personally enjoy taking the teardrop to the car wash after a weekend camping, then pulling it into the garage and wiping it down. I think the cool look of it outweighs any worries.
My fenders are the generic fenders you can get from Tractor Supply or Northern Tool. I got mine from a vendor on eBay but I would recommend trying to stay local as I had multiple issues with them getting dented during shipping.
