It looks like your garage door is taller than the normal home garage door. How tall will your camper be inside and out, at its highest point?

The blue tape on the deck floor looks like where you're going to put cabinets; so, the bed is in the back with a standy kitchen in the front? Are you putting in a potty or wash room?

Not bad for just looking at the picture. The door is a full 8' door in my workshop. The highest height measurement on the inside is 73". I have about 1 1/2" of clearance through the door.

Kitchen and potty room up front. Bed in the rear. I am about to start on the kitchen. That will be a bit of a slow process with the cabinet work. I have been making pretty steady progress thus far.

Well, progress continues. It is a little tough with this fantastic weather we have been getting in April. Cut some of the lawn today even though it didn't really need it. It looks better.

I still found time to work on "it". I attached the back wall and built the wheel wells. Nothing fancy and the work is pretty straight forward. I am going to start working on the kitchen at this point. The work will slow down now having to build cabinets. None the less, the show must go on. I has two cars stop on the road today when I had "it" outside the shop. One actually drove past, stopped in the road and backed up, and gawked for about a minute. I had to look around to make sure the horses hadn't gotten out or something. No, just me and that thing I am building.

Since I need to get started on the kitchen area I figured I should have the walls done to attach cabinets to. So that means I needed to build the first portion of the front curved wall. I know many of you have may have done this. The business of bending plywood can be interesting at a minimum. There are certainly many ways one can go about this task.

Here is what I chose to do. I glued my spars to the back of my plywood first. I just put the plywood face down on the shop floor and glued the spars on with Titebond III and sufficient weight from concrete blocks. Then I screwed some small cleats on the spars so I had something to clamp to.



I eased the plywood around the bend and attached it to the sides with 2 1/2" screws through the sidewalls into the spars.



Not bad for my first try. Nothing broke or cracked. Looks just fine.

Wow, I have been enjoying your build and I can't wait to see it finished.

I especially liked the way you attached the ribs and then screwed the blocks on top for the clamps. It looks like it also placed your ribs perfectly flush and at even intervals around the curve.

One more fan watching this build. Not sure exactly what I'm looking at in the pic above. I assume (ouch) that the kitchen is on the left, but I cannot figure out what the box at the rear is for. Maybe a bed? Is this going to have a furnace? If so, I will be watching with interest to see your duct work.

Sorry about the big gap in updates here. I have been pretty busy and will try and catch everyone up.

We are looking at the convertable dining/sleeping area. There will be a table in the middle that folds down flush for a king size sleeping space.



I am going to trim everything out in walnut just because I want to and I like the contrast look of the birch/walnut.

I am really pleased with how well this underlayment plywood is working out for me.

Lots of work to do here yet. This will all be storage so I have to cut these lids and install hinges.

I also continued work on the roof adding the next sheet. I was afraid that I would not get the plywood to cooperate without breaking because it is a pretty sharp bend for 1/4" plywood. I could have cut some kerfs but what is the fun in that.



No kerfs. No visible fastners.
