Well, I finally got time to work on the lights again. I ran a ground wire to each fixture, as some of you have done, and I am happy to report that all lights are now working...

You are so much better off this way.
Almost every automotive light made uses a common ground and If it weren't on a "Moving Object" I would say its fine.
And a lot of times it is fine but all it takes is a little "jiggling" some rust or a loose bolt somewhere, somewhere is a BIG word.
And you've got to start with "Adam & Eve" and work your way up to find the problem.
2 wires, one to a hot and the other to the Battery AND the frame isn't hard to trace.
But one hot and the other to a bolt on the light, that's connected to the fender, that's connected to a bracket, that's connected to the frame and the frame is a "Bolt together" and then to the tongue and bla bla bla and on and on.
I spend a lot of time at gatherings under trailers finding ground problems.
Smart move.
Happy Trails
