Waiting on RAKA epoxy

Postby Alan and Lianna » Tue May 25, 2010 1:42 pm

We ordered 3 gallons of epoxy on 5-10, received an email on 5-11 that the status was shipped! I have still not seen any epoxy, contacted RAKA yesterday, they checked and said it was loaded on the truck on the 17th but not delivered for some reason, and the UPS tracking showed it on the truck again scheduled for delivery. There was someone at the house all day and no delivery? I called RAKA back today, inquiring again, after three hours of no return call, I called again. I was informed that UPS was trying to find the status of the package, and if not found by the end of the day, they would express ship a replacement order. What is the norm on shipping from RAKA?

I've always found them to be reasonably fast...around a week...keep in mind, they are a small shop with just the owner and a couple of employees...it actually sounds like you have a UPS problem more than a RAKA problem...

I once had a similar problem with some printer ink, which FedEx lost...they showed it being loaded on the truck but when the driver was asked and the truck searched, it simply wasn't there...it ended up taking a month to get my ink with the "free" overnite shipping..................

I, too, have never had a problem, actually come quite fast considering in live in the west. I have ordered 4 different times and always received in one week. I would guess it is UPS rather than Raka.

I ship about a hundred packages a day, and at least once a week, Fedex or UPS screws something up. It happens a lot more than you think.

You could ask them for the tracking number and see for yourself what is going on if you are suspicious.

Thanks, for the replies, it does ease my mind to know that this is not the norm. I can only hope that it gets here before I need it this weekend.

I always ask for the tracking number, that way it's really easy to see where the problem is.

Well, I contacted RAKA this morning and they said UPS is still trying to locate the package, said they would send another shipment today and get it to me as fast as they could without incuring overnight shipping charges.
