I was active a few years back for a long time doing a medieval reinactment and always had large canvas tents, with way too many 6' wooden poles and miles of canvas. It always seemed to rain and canvas cant be put away wet. Seemed whenever I was dateing someone or brought friends they would scatter to the wind as soon as it was time to set the pavillion up or break it down. That gets old fast lol.
Bought a sailboat and moved aboard it and stopped camping...well 5 years passed and I realized mostly everyone at the marina is married couples and that doesnt help when your single so last summer I started up back in the SCA again
http://www.eastkingdom.org/index.html and foolishly bought a smaller canvas pavillion instead of building my vardo.
Well I decided what the hell Im unemployed have time and no money lets build it.... used my tax return and sold my last canvas pavillion for 20 dollars more then I bought it for and started my build. Its not done, but pretty close... good enough to camp in it.
Dont wait, if you want it start now... we never know how long we have and people have a habit of putting things off till we get a little older, well I buried my first boyfriend at 22 from brain cancer who thought he had all the time in the world... well we dont, so live large and enjoy the ride!
