I loaded up The Used Dog and headed west to the beach last Monday. We stayed at Cape Disappointment State Park. It is just out of Ilwaco, WA and is where Lewis and Clark became sick of the rain.

We had sunny weather. In fact, there was no wind, which is strange for the beach. So, the mosquitoes were out.
Well, time for the event to be discussed. My Used Dog has arthritis already and he was tired. We'd walked quite a bit, he went swimming in the bay, he retrieved sticks, he did all the normal Labrador stuff. He sleeps beside me in the Little Guy. At 2AM I was awakened by the trailer shaking. I realized it was The Used Dog, and waited for him to stop. He didn't. I turned on the light, and the poor boy was stuck. I have a slick nylon topped sleeping bag on the bed, and he seemed to have slipped so his hindquarters were lodged under the foot space, and his front feet were stuck between the mattress and the wall.
I wrapped my arms around his midsection and was able to slide all 80 pounds out. He was content and the Dogquake was over. I turned the fan back on to drown out his snoring.
