Hi Thomas,

It's not the SB that's holding us back on camping. For some reason, even though we are not that socialble, our spring calender is booked. Last weekend, our best friend's daughter and her husband had a 10-year anniversary party, this weekend my stepson is getting married, next weekend is the Moody Blues concert (we'll see if they show)...and so on. We've got more things booked this spring than we did the last 5 years total.

I am still fitting in some time to work on the teardrop so I'll be "finished" finished by Loyd Park this September.

Take care, Tom
Tom (& Linda)

LOL! That's funny tom, but I totally understand. My life is doing the same to my camping this season, but hey, it's all good!

Awesome

What an awesome job Tom! The time, love, and patience you have put into this have paid off handsomely. You should be very proud of your work, and Linda should be very proud of you. Something as nice as your camper I would be afraid to take out of the showroom...it's more of a work of art vs. something like mine that is meant to get me off the ground in the rain. I look at the raw talent in this file and it is truly truly humbling!

take care and best regards, Jim :clapping hands:

I think I've posted this before, but it bears repeating... you've set the bar very high for us soon to be or in the middle of building. If I get results any where near as nice as yours, I will be thrilled beyond my wildest expectations. Thanks for the great thread with all of the documentation. You have a right to be very proud of the Silver Beatle

I think your build is in the top two or three I've seen on this forum. AMAZING!

Actually, construction will resume this weekend.

It's been 2-1/2 months since I've last done anything. My attention will be on the galley cabinets. when I last stopped, the door and drawer parts are ready to assemble, and the cases and face frames are made. I need to fit everything and then take it apart for finishing. (I think I mentioned it before but I loathe finishing wood.)

The high tempartures predicted for this weekend are a balmy 100+ degrees...but at least it is a humid hot (tongue in cheek.)

Thank y'all again for the nice comments!

Take care,
Tom

Look forward to seeing the updates Tom. I couldn't agree more, even though I love to build stuff I hate finishing wood. Stay cool, Jim

You've got to be really itchy to do something by now. I know it's only been a month since I worked on The Shack and it's driving me crazy. As soon as I am cleared (by the wife) I will start doing small stuff again...she can be really bossy when it come to my health. Looking forward to seeing some new pics Tom...and making my work shabby in comparison.

take care, Jim

OK Tom, we will fill up your build thread with our own stuff while we eagerly await your progress!

I want to get back in the garage and put that last piece of black aluminum on the inside of the hatch sometime, but this weekend has been all about working on my other trailer (the big one)...

I hope you get alot accomplished!

Not much to report.

When I first went out in the garage, I couldn't find my teardrop or workbench.

It took me two hours to put everything away and clear a path. Then my $5 box fan went out. :x The temperature in the garage (in the shade) was 98 degrees. So I took a trip to the BORG and bought another fan. :fan: Then I sanded and prepped the upper galley cabinets for finish and called it a day.

Day two was a little more productive. I relocated some of the electrical runs, removed the battery from its temporary location and fitted the lower galley cases and face frame. They had been sitting around for about three months and thankfully didn't warp or twist.

That took me about four hours and I had to call it a day because of the heat again. (My truck temperature gauge said it was 105 degrees.)

Anyway, my motivation has returned. I just need to build up endurance to the heat.

Take care,
Tom

Looks great so far, Tom. You found the SB, and got some stuff done. You don't have to do it all in one weekend. Build up yourself and enjoy doing the job.

Yes, whenever I start a weekend, it always begins with the ritual of straightening up. You gotta organize your space! You did good by just making a dent!
