Been steady working on the camper, but, not enough progress at one time to warrant an update, until now.
The last three weeks have been all about the cabinets. That, and trying to shake a huge chest cold. My wife and kids all went to the doctor, and were treated for bronchitis. My guess is that's what I had as well. Regardless, the work on the camper has been in slow motion.
But we got the finish on the cabinets.
Went with Antique Red for the woodwork and left the lauan natural. 2 coats of spar varnish.
Need psychiatric help. Ten cabinet doors.
Front cabinet
Took some sound advice and made the doorways taller.
The foam panels really stiffened up when I gorilla glued them to the front cabinet. I also laid the sides in a good bead of GG, then "pinned" them to the trailer floor with 1/2" wooden dowels. 8 per side.
A view from the rear. May build a short riser to attach the upper cabinet to the lower. Figure the hatch hinge will go just aft of the upper cabinet face. Hopefully it'll all tie in together.
Guess thats it for now. Hope to get my help back next weekend for some major decision making. Have some LED puck lights for the ceiling. Also have some pretty cool reading lights w/switches for the top of the lauan sections on the front cabinets.
Found a
240 mm (10") computer case fan online. Quiet, few amps. Figure it'll cycle the air in the entire cabin in about eight minutes.
Next week, finish mounting the cabinets. Place some spars, and run some electrical wire.
