Hey Earl no new pics but have gotten it 2/3rd skinned and some small interior refinements like rope molding. I will do more in December when I have time off. Last couple of months I have had little time to work on it epecially since we're going out to test drive cars for Sheri. Her Honda Civic had over heated a yr ago and cracked the Aluminium block when the fan went out on it. Didn't show up til last month so now she is getting another vehicle probably a Honda . I will have more pics soon just taking my lil teardrop time right now  to work on it.

Thanks for checking Earl!

Boy Cliff, I can understand the car game, just replaced Kerry's 98 Olds Cutlass, it served us very well (we were the only owners), but it was time (AC went out, back window linkage broke, a computer module died....)

Take all the time, belief me I understand the racking and sacking of priorities!

Good luck with the car shopping!

Good deal, Lucille... Glad you can now work on the "real" important things....like homemade campers. :D

Nice little car, BTW.

Thanks guys and I have been doing a little here and there but finally getting it enclosed and my epoxy will be here next Tuesday! I will probably take a few days off to get it saturated let it dry and then do a second coat. So I will hopefully be closer to an acceptable point before the end of the year!

Cliff, congrats on the new car and glad to hear you are moving along on your tear. Can't wait to see pics.

We have been too busy to camp much this year...Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain was our last outing. I miss the little "MyPod" that I sold as it was so easy to just pack up and go by myself at times. The T@B is just a lot more to get ready and more in gas to tow.

Still thinking of building and conversions everytime I see potential on the road or craigslist.

Thanks Mike and Sheri absolutely loves her Juke, so much she barely lets me drive it . For some reason when I drive we get 27 mpg ave and she gets 35 :? , probably because I keep it in sport mode and she keeps it in eco mode . I'm doing some this weekend and I've taken a 4day weekend next weekend (Fri-tues) and will have it farther by a bit. We went to the outlets last night at 10pm but did get some good deals. We picked up a new coleman kitchen for $55 thats lite weight that was going for 129 originally. We'll be camping in 3 weeks with Sheri's college roommate and her husbandas he will be deployed to Afghanistan in January with the Air Force. Other than that we've only been out a couple of times and once was in the tent. Well I'm outta here heading to Athens to shop and then back here to work this afternoon when its warmed up.

Hey Cliff

Thats a nice car you Sherry got. We have a honda civic too and hopefully we won't have that problem. Were in the market for a new car too. Becky wants to get a mid size car and I guess I'll take over the honda. We'll just have to see how that works out. I'm still doing alittle here and there to the critter and I would say I'm about 98% done. I don't think it's possible to be 100% done because we'll always tweak them alittle.
Your build is lookin great and just take your time and before you know it, you'll be 98% done too.

Thanks Larry have her look at the Nissans, I was impressed, and if it was my choice we probably would of had a Rogue as they said it had a 2700# towing capacity and decent mpg. But not my decision  and she got what she wanted and now she's telling me to get busy as she is ready to camp in the new tear. Well have the first layer of 1/8 th set of skins on and trying to decide if I want to just do 1 or do 2 layers. I have decided to paint the roof and leave the birch sides with just epoxy and spar varnish at the end just on the sides. That way later if I decide I want AL on the roof all I will do is add the trim pieces. I'm going to try and get a few pics but really doesn't look that much different than the last . Well headed out to plug away at it again so see ya later.

Hey Cliff,

Your in the home stretch on your build. Good to know the wiring is done. I can't wait to see the exterior finish of your TD's sides.

Y'alls new Nissan is really nice. My wife has been looking at one of those too. (We probably would have purchased one already if I hadn't totaled our CR-V in the ice storm in February.)

Take care,
Tom

Ok I have been doing some work on the tear but life keeps rearing up ya know. Last week had finally run the trailer wiring and ran it up thru too the the roof so I finally got the roof enclosed!! Now trying to dricde what to use to putty the screw holes I used to hold the skins down in places, I used Starleen2's (Thanks Scott) combinations of screws, staples and ratcheting tiedowns and 2x2's to hold the skin down to dry. I'm waiting til Thursday to order the 4" fiberglass tape to cover the seams and the side edges after I putty all the holes and places where the plywood tore (cutting with the saw). I had purchased a couple of tubs of Elmers wood putty but not sure how it will react to being epoxied and glassed over. I had planned on doing a lot this past weekend and even took today and tomorrow (tuesday) off to work on it. Well had my ex-FIL's funeral on Saturday and then the wife had stuff for us todo. Sunday she suggested getting the lights up and the yard decorated and then reminded me she had a afternoon "Holiday Tea" that husbands were invited too. Needless to say I got to work on it today (Yay), after releasing the straps on the skin I routered the overhang off and the vent hole out. I then realized that enough pressure had not been on the skin around the vent so I flattened the wifes turkey baster, hey she caused all the time away from the build the last 2 months  and the reinserted titebond 3 back under the edges and cut some 12" boards down and clamped all the edges back down! Don't worrk already have the wife a new bastier coming with a bunch of Pampered Chef stuff she wanted for Christmas 8) . Then I started working on the hatch again only instead of redoing it I started putting in supports to stiffen the hatch. I also started cutting the skins for the hatch and another stinking seam. I was going to take pics but some else had taken to school and couldn't remeber who she loaned it too :(. So I'll be picking up a new one of those this weejend also! Well any way tomorrow I will be cutting some doors I had to change out at work down to fit the cabinets in the galley and the cabin. Then will start sanding the sides and doors on the exterior and may try and mount the doors but we'll see as tomorrow is 90% chnace of rain here. Well thats it with the update, except we have decided how its getting finished! Afetr we epoxie it and get it scuffed up I will bepainting it a nice red color and the 4" fom the edge on the side and the top will be a glossy black to mimic trim. I'll just be glad to get it to that point!
Have a great week!

i had the same issue around my vent hole but just clamped the hell out of it... plus, once you screw the vent in place that helps too.

i replied on my thread as well, but i ordered 3 gallons of aeromarine & after 2 coats on all outside surfaces & 4 on all ply edges i still have about half of it leftover... so i'm guessing 1.5 gallons should be enough for you

Thanks Kent and yours is looking nice by the way and I'm doing a lil at a time until I get my 4" fiberglass tape in and I did decide to use bondo to fill the holes in and some places that had part of the ply tear when I was cutting it.
