oh my, it was a unique weekend to say the least! we had a great bunch of folks arrive on friday. some old timers, and a few new comers. it was terrific seeing the old guys and meeting the new ones! we met larry from here! he brought his friend wayne also.
another really nice first timer came down and brought some wine for us to have a wine tasting. well it seriously did not take too many of the little dixie cup samples to knock me out! bed time for me was extremely early friday night. saturday i woke up with a fever and i was sick!

i tried hard to keep it moving on saturday, but you know fevers and being nice and even being upright don't got to well together. we also had a couple of the guys that were ummm a tad under the weather also. however, i don't think their problem was due to being sick. perhaps 500lbs of beer and/or whiskey and bourbon will do that to a body?

so a lot of water was consumed by them thru out the day once they could hold it down that is.
now our tearjerker chapter director just happened to be one of those water consuming people.

so he is in fact only in one pic that i have from the build. even though he was a water consumer that day, he did get us a going, he helped with the cooking of breakfast (although i don't know how without losing it, but he did. and he did get the build a going.
so here is the one pic of him and the build starts:

side wall going up

front wall

they used screws to hold the foam together

the inside, way bigger than i was expecting!

front wall

side profile

they build on frame so things fit properly. and it was removed and set down in the yard (on top of wood) til i can work on it again. so the basic shape/shell is done. but lots, lots more work needs to be done. i do think i may stack foam in the front and sculpt(?) it to a little more round looking shape.
the sad part is, the floor i did do does not fit back on the frame!

i guess once i put the lauan on it just was too big. so when lemons are thrown your way, you make lemonaid right? well yes you do. the good news on this is that with a new thinner floor, i can stand completely upright inside!

so if i get some plywood, i should/maybe beable to take that top lauan off from what i did and might beable to stick that on top of the plywood. so perhaps that papered floor won't go to waste. i can hope so anyway.
patricia we missed you! if i am feeling better you can come down this coming weekend if you want.
