Figured I'd throw this out there: we wouldn't want to stay on topic for too long...
I came home Thurs night and my older dog (8 y.o. Shep/Elkhound) couldn't walk. She had lost all of her balance and was stumbling and staggering like a drunk. She was holding her head tilted 90 degrees to one side and her eyes were flicking back and forth.
In a person, one would think of a stroke.
Turns out it's called
vestibular syndrome.
They don't know what causes it, there's no treatment for it, and when it subsides (after days or weeks), it leaves no lasting effects.
Just a neurological oddity...
