Ever since I got back from vacation two weeks ago I've been planning on getting Gertrude into the garage. Using Heathcliff (the TV) would involve moving her up the drive, then backing her while making a 90 degree turn across 20 feet of drive into a garage space with about 2 inches clearance on each side. And the edge of the drive is smack up against the neighbor's garage! I decided using Heathcliff was not an option. Gertrude would have to be pushed into position, and she is a BIG teardrop who tips the scales at about 2500 pounds!

So I have been procrastinating.
Today I realized that I had best get her in, as the weather is supposed to get crappy the rest of the week / weekend. I bundled up, went out, and started tugging her along the drive. It worked! At least as far as getting her up the drive and turned around so that her galley was pointed toward the garage. But I could not get her moving backwards toward the garage for love nor money.

No matter how much I tried to move her, she would not budge. I gave up and headed next door to see if the neighbor would lend assistance. DIdn't get very far, though, as she had seen me from her upstairs window and come out to lend a hand!
We two gals, with the assistance of another neighbor out walking his dogs, got her into the garage, squared up nicely, and ready for whatever modifications I decide she needs over the winter!

I just LOVE neighbors!
