Thanks everyone! We are currently planning a road trip around some popular camp spots out here in the west. I think we will definitely have some new adventures in store with this little trailer!

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks! Our next big trip is out to a desert spot west of Salt Lake City called Knolls. It's a great place to ride our 4 wheeler and hang out. I got a new latch from Frank at Vintage Technologies because the other one had a factory defect. Frank is an awesome guy to deal with by the way!!! If you ever need teardrop parts go to Vintage Tech!!!!

I need to make some 5/16" latch spacers at work so the doors will close more easily, install some drip rail above the storage area with 2 more d-rings, install the floor trim molding, and get my outlets wired up. There will be a big group of people on this trip so I'm going to bum a 15A line from one of the generators out there so we can listen to the stereo and have our fan on when it gets to warm out. I can't wait for the next trip!

We did get to take it out on one last trip before the cold weather hit and it did great! I wish the weather was better as we got stuck in about 45 minutes of a crazy wind/sand/dust storm out in the Utah desert. Luckily the bed was all setup in the trailer and the wife and I just hung out in total comfort with our boston terrier until the storm moved on. I forgot the poles to support my side tarps so the tear got pretty dirty but she held up great! I had full generator power for almost the whole trip so the fan kept the air fresh and we were able to charge our phones and listen to music.

Building this trailer has been an awesome experience and we are so glad we were able to finish it! It is a breeze to use and tow and stores very easily. I don't think I will ever part with this little thing!

Well a little update on our tear. Jack Frost decided to put the little guy through the ringer as a combination of condensation and a cheap silver-backed tarp stained the aluminum skin pretty bad. I'm not looking forward to cleaning and polishing this thing when the weather warms up! But worse case scenario my buddy and I are going to wet sand the entire thing and then polish it.

But our annual trip to the desert for Easter weekend is in the planning phase so I figure I'll dig the trailer out from behind my neighbors house and make sure she's ready. Here's what I got when I pulled the tarp off...

I'm desperately hoping that the "sagging" that appears in the last picture is just an illusion from the surrounding reflections and not actual roof sag. That would break my heart.  But I'm going to check that out when I get home from work. I didn't even notice it until I looked at these pictures.

On the to-do list is making sure all the wiring is still working good. Getting some sort of good battery setup and testing my new generator out with the 110v system. Since Easter is a little early this year it's most likely going to be a chilly one so I want to make sure I can run a little heater or heat blanket through the night. Once the weather warms up a little I'm going to tackle the exterior finishing and then move inside and get some base trim down and clean it out!

I'm getting excited to use this thing again!!!!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention. I'll soon have to modify the back shelf and convert it to a bunk bed! My wife and I are welcoming our first baby in July!

OUCH!!!
I was kind of warned about tarping bare aluminum, man oh man, I hate to see that. It's gonna be a lot of work, keep us posted on the process you use and how it turns out. Mine got scratched in the process and I'm needing to do something to it as well. Thought about paint, but would like to hold off for a while longer.
There's a guy I met several years ago that used to make his own aluminum polish, I've seen it in action, not much labor involved. I mentioned to him that I usually use Mother's brand polish, he refered to Mother's as "work in a can".

Congrates on the baby on the way.

[quote="Robbie"]Ya 60% chance of rain where we're going but I could care less now that I'm not sleeping in a crappy tent!

What did you use to weather seal your door? I am horrified of doing the doors. I think that is probably the weakest link when it comes to water damage.

Thanks,
