YAY.....I HAVE A TEARDROP! Or, at least it finally looks a little bit like a teardrop. After spending lots of time working on separate pieces, today many of those pieces came together.
To keep the bubble level:
Sides up, bulkheads in, spars in! Bulkheads made of pine salvaged from the barn, glued and biscuited. Spars are good, clear poplar which I found fantastic to work with. It's a great medium when you want a light paintable wood that's stronger than pine/fir and lighter/cheaper than a hardwood.
My friend Tommy from church put in a few hours of working today...thanks Tommy!
Grandpa seems surprised it's going this well!
It even makes Grandma smile!
Rear bulkhead (with oak header) and galley area.
Vent location framed in. I may have to double up those spars depending on the width of the vent flange.
Gratuitous clampage!
I'm pretty excited to have made this progress today...June is looming closer and closer. My $15 check has been sent, so we're committed to ITG3.
